Hey guys!!! Sorry I haven’t been posting a lot, I have been super busy!!!! I just want to catch you up on my volleyball season. My school season went really good we were undefeated!!! At my school we do this thing where the 6th grade team and the 5th grade team play each other, and its super fun because the whole school comes to watch!!!! My team won the first set, they won the second set, and we didn’t play a third set because we ran out of time, so we called it a tie. That has NEVER happened, 6th grade always beats 5th grade, so it was really fun that we got to at least tie with them. I was super proud of my team and it was over all a great season!!!!
I am about to start my club season and I am really excited for that!!! until my club season starts I have been doing private lessons with my coach whose name is Alexia Heist. Alexia graduated this year from TCU and was the setter for TCU!!!!! If you don’t know this I am a setter so it is super cool that she is coaching me!!!!!!!!! Over all Alexia is really nice! I am also starting to play beach volleyball!!!
Beach volleyball is really fun and it is good cross training for indoor volleyball. I have only played one beach tournament but I am going to play another one this Saturday!!!!!!!! Now you can probably see why I have been so busy!!!! School is going really good too!!!! I am on Student Council at school so that makes school actually fun!!!! I know you are probably surprised that I just said SCHOOL IS FUN but for me I love school!!! Well thats all I have to say know. I hope life is treating all of you well!!! Until next time I will see you later!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure that you have heard of Texas Christian University. No? How about TCU? If I were to say the word “TCU sports,” you would probably think of football or basketball. Have you ever thought about volleyball? I am guessing you probably don’t think about that. Let me tell you about one girl on the TCU volleyball team…Ashley Smith.
Ashley Smith is a hitter on the TCU volleyball team. You know, the hitter is the one who spikes the ball down. Usually, the libero [Sutton Sunstrom] bumps the ball from the serve to the setter [Alexia Heist], who sets the ball to the hitter, which obviously, you know who I am talking about.
Keep reading to find out more about Ashley Smith!
Last week, I got to see Ashley play in person, as they played Texas Tech [by the way they won!]. After the game I got to meet her, and she is my home screen, so I showed her, then she signed my TCU sweater, and I also took a picture with her, which is now my lock screen!
My book is almost over and the reason I have only 2 chapters is because Ashley is number 2! I know that we are talking about volleyball, but Trevone Boykin is also number 2! Every position in volleyball is awesome and exciting but hitting is awesome.
I am so excited about what I am writing about today because I am a big sports fan!
I just finished my last volleyball game, and we won! We finished the season 6-2, and really got better from last Spring. After the game we all went to Fuddrucker’s and we got medals and certificates. Boo that it was our last game, but I can play again in the Spring!
Now, lets get to talking about basketball! I am going to start playing in January. I am so excited because basketball is a fun sport. I am totally ready for basketball because I play a lot in my drive way!
I also am a huge TCU fan, so I am hoping we win out, and that Ole Miss crushes Mississippi State, that Baylor loses to Kansas State, and that Florida State finally loses. It wouldn’t hurt to see Ohio State and ‘Bama lose too. So GO TCU!
This isn’t really about sports, but, I have been loving watching The Voice, so…. go team Pharrell! Lets win The Voice!
Time for me to go, so L8R!
Sorry I haven’t been writing that much, but here I am, and I am going to write about my summer!
I went to Pine Cove, which is a camp that I go to every summer with my friend Emmalie. It was really fun! I did the Breathtaker – that is a thing that swings you in the air. I also did other cool things at camp too.
This summer I also went to Mexico on a mission trip. I got to help the poor people, and I got to paint. I went to a lot of other cool places too, like Galveston. While I was there, my Daddy and Mommy baptized me! Isn’t that cool? It’s important to tell the world you have given your life to Jesus.
I also wanted to tell you that I just started school! I’m in third grade. I have a great teacher and awesome friends. In class, if you’re good, you get fake money and you get to spend it in these little buckets. How cool is that?!
Well I have to go now. See you later.
I am very sorry that I have not blogged much! But, today was my last full day of school, and so I promise to write ALOT to you this summer!
To catch you up on what’s been going on, here are a few highlights:
- We went to see the musical STOMP! It was LOUD!
- Easter was egg-straordinary!
- I started and finished my first volleyball season! I got a trophy, the “PRIMO PASSER” award, and the “Encourager” character award!
- I have also been taking golf lessons – and I chipped one in!
- Dodge ball has been fun, and I have gotten a lot of my friends out!
- We had Field Day at school. My favorite event was dressing my teacher, Mrs. Holder, because I got to put the COCONUT bra on her! 😉
- For Mother’s Day I got my Momma a shopping trip!
- We have also been to maybe 5 Ranger’s games! I love them! My favorite player is Prince Fielder, but I LOVE all of them.
Ok, that should catch you up. I’m off for a busy summer of Pine Cove Camp, a mission trip in Mexico, vacay and pool time!
See you soon!
Hi, I’m back!
I just finished going to Costa Rica. I had smoothies! My favorite one was “Mad Monkey” while swimming at the pool.
I also went zip-lining! I was a little scared, but it became fun, and I went UPSIDE DOWN on the last one!
Then, we went on a really rough water slide that made someone bleed! But I went all by myself.
I also went horseback riding down hill. AAAAHHH!!
“Pura Vida” in Costa Rica means that everything is all good and we are having a good time!
PURA VIDA everybody!
Today was my last day of school before SPRING BREAK so I am SO excited! But before I tell you more about that, I want to tell you about the last few days.
On Wednesday, I met the Mayor of Fort Worth. She gave me a “Molly” pin, which looks like a Longhorn!
On Thursday, I went for a fossil hunt field trip at school! I found cool rocks and a few fossils. After that, there was only a few people at school! I got a book at Barnes and Noble this weekend, a biography about Jackie Robinson. I finished it that day, and got all of my AR test points! I learned from Jackie Robinson that not only white people should be allowed to do stuff, but so should black people, and all people. He was very brave.
Today I watched my sister’s “Q and U Wedding” at school. The Kindergartener’s do this to show how the letters Q and U are never apart! Delaney was a Bridesmaid. She was adorable! 😉
Tomorrow I am going to a REAL wedding for some friends – Ashley and Nick. Then, the next day, I am going to Costa Rica for Spring Break! I am going to go to dinner, have room service, and jump in the pool!
Maybe I’ll check in with ya while I’m there chillin’!
McKinley loves you!
